Community Resilience Plan – Wisemans Ferry
Mosaic Insights designed and delivered a program to co-design a Community Resilience and Social Recovery Plan for Wisemans Ferry, supporting recovery from severe weather impacts.

Severe weather events such as storms, floods, bushfires, and droughts have become increasingly frequent and severe in New South Wales (NSW), causing significant damage to land, property, and lives. Notably, floods, the most costly and deadly of these disasters, have had severe social, economic, and environmental impacts.
In response, Hornsby Shire Council (HSC) secured funding through the NSW Severe Weather and Flood Grant AGRN 1025 to initiate a pilot program focused on community resilience and social recovery, specifically in the Wisemans Ferry area.
Mosaic Insights was engaged to design and deliver the pilot process for a Community Resilience and Social Recovery Plan. This involved collaborating with HSC, Reconstruction NSW, RFS, and SES to co-design the approach, conduct surveys and interviews, and engage local residents through workshops. Our work has helped to develop a resilience plan that addressed the most urgent issues identified by the community and other stakeholders, which would guide future social recovery efforts in flood-affected regions.
