Mosaic Lab – Green infrastructure and urban cooling

About This Project

The Mosaic Lab is often used as a way to facilitate the generation and distribution of new insights and ideas in industry.

At a recent Mosaic Lab, green infrastructure strategy and urban cooling targets were the focus. Mosaic sought out insightful and passionate contributions from senior representatives of the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Parks Victoria, CRC for Water Sensitive Cities, Melbourne Water and leading consultants in the water and open space industries.

The Lab established that with climate change, urban cooling will be a central pillar of a cities liveability. The roles of open space, canopy cover and water management will be central in an energy intense world.

It may be the key health crisis of the future, but it is addressable with rethinking and extending our concepts of the landscape.

The Lab identified a range of key insights and strategic directions.
